Teresia Teaiwa

Teresia Teaiwa was born in Honolulu, Hawai’i, to an I-Kiribati father and an African American mother, and was raised in Fiji. She was a poet, and a scholar at Victoria University, where she lectured in Pacific Studies — a field she’s described as “literally oceanic in proportions”. She was also co-editor of the International Feminist Journal of Politics.
